November 23, the day of the Maguindanao Massacre.
It was Monday and I was very clueless. I was unaware on what happened in my island,
Again, another dreadful and remarkable experience happened in the
Who would ever think? 57 heartbeats were suddenly eradicated, breathes abruptly stopped, 57 lives were sent to heaven and 57 souls were screaming for justice.
What are bothering inside me now are the deprived families of the victims. What’s really in my head right now is a picture of a kid, crying and begging for the lost family to come back. Wishing for a time machine and flashback all the disastrous experience. Isn’t it heart-breaking? How about the dreams and hopes of the victims? How about the pleasure, the beauty and the gift of life? How could someone take a life without even thinking? I mean, why don’t they put their selves in victim’s shoes? OR RATHER KILL THEIR f&5#c#5k SELVES? WHY DON’T THEY DO THAT TO THEIR SELVES? So they won’t fright other lives. It’s like they’re taking all. Everything. Including their soul- blazing in hell.
Forgiveness is not incorporated in this issue. How would you let off those demons if they’re not even worthy to be forgiven? They cannot mend the wounds that they have caused the grieving family. I doubt why they were given a space here in the World. A world full of love. They don’t even deserve to be here. They are only bringing up a picture of brutality here in the
What happened in the Maguindanao is now part of a tragic history. We can never take back the lives that were already slaughtered.
As united Filipino youths, let’s not wait for another massacre to come for us to realize the value of life. WE OUGHT TO MOVE NOW and seek for JUSTICE! I care. WE CARE.
Let's continue praying for the Justice.

impressive writing :) WE CARE :)
ReplyDeletehehe.
Greediness in power and money are the roots of all evils!
ReplyDeleteI think it is time that the Ampatuan dynasty should be disarmed and stopped from lording in their area to ease the burden of their constituents. Should be stopped, investigated and charge from all the crimes. They must be punished with death penalty.
It’s very sad to think that our government leaders are the one who are leading in making crimes.
Where is the justice in this country?
Where is the peace in this country?
Your blog Dhang is very impressive... Congratulations!as a reader, u've caught my attention and emotion regarding the issue that you've presented...
ReplyDeleteWell, the issue doesn't just concern for the Ampatuan Dynasty but it's a reminder to the whole community of the country of the Philippines to be awaken and be attentive in everything that is happening around especially with regards to the Political System of our government...
I hope that through your blog with much attention and discernment not that just to the government officials but to all of us living in this country to hold hands together in order to make a change...
Let's not allow another massacre to happen unless we will still choose to be apathetic...

ReplyDeleteBRAVO.. great work..
hope that your blog can be read by thousands of people and touch their hearts and help to find justice for the victims of the massacre in maguindano..
i hope that this blog can catch the attention of the government officials who are much busy of their own political issues and their candidacy this coming 2010 elections..
go go go dhang.. aja!!
they really have to pay on what they did.
ReplyDeleteto the writer: VERY IMPRESSIVE
borxit
yah..dhang,...because of greediness of getting the power...they wanted to rule the whole maguindanao, imagine..almost of their relatives..are politician?? that's how selfish they are.
ReplyDelete@ A.L : thanks el :)

I totally agree with this statement. YES! LEADERS IN CRIME.
@ mat2:
ReplyDeleteThank you for your appreciation mat :)
We're a democratic country and yet, it seems that we're not! We are controlled by POWER! Selfish power!
@ yhang:
ReplyDeletethanks yhang :)
yeah, i guess they're sooooooo busy with their candidacy.
hear hear chai.
ReplyDeleteWhat the criminals have been doing during this past few weeks is inhuman. Killing a number of people for personal reason or maybe political reason is quiet alarming to hink they are leaders in their locality.
I say this country is forsaken. There is no hope left except for a pack of cigarette that kills. The government cannot even control their own leaders. PGMA, surprisingly, did not break political dynasties in Maguindanao which is one of the reasons of the feud.
shame on them.
*think
ReplyDelete@ borxie:
ReplyDeletethanks bor.. :)
i think, lifetime imprisonment would not be enough as punishment to what they did.
@ lizette:
ReplyDeleteI just dont get it, why do politicians keep on dishonoring our country? Instead of loving and protecting our own? They supposed to be the chief of Morals. Not immoral!
dear demons huh??
ReplyDeletegreat writing dhang, you are having your first steps towards literatire as a journalist..and i know that was your big dream.
you said they are demons, but for me, they are indescribable, i think they are the kings of all fucking kings in hell..
"why dont they do that to their selves??"
for me, "why dont we KILL them now??any kind of weapons or ways to kill them is legal"
crucify AMPATUAN!!but his head must nailed..crucified them upside down...hahaha
for your next blog, can you make this as your topic???
"why are the Laws of Justice and the Government acting so slow in this kind of situation???"
i know martial law is now working, but days before that, why dont they put Ampatuan in jail that it is very obvious, i mean 100% clear that he is the main suspect???WTF!!
I think they love our country. Yes, they definitely do. For them to pursue a seat in the government they need passion in serving, but unfortunately, they carry selfish desires too with them as they lead Philippines as a whole. The negative character they have dominates their whole being. You are right. It is because of greed and the hunger of power that allowed them to kill innocent people.
ReplyDelete@ kuya shui:
ReplyDeletehahahahahahahha! thank you ya shui :)
you were indeed right! indescribable.
hahahah. if we do that, we're already recurring what they did. And what will happen to our country?
Yeha sure, ya shui. that would be my next topic :)
@ lizette:
ReplyDeleteI think love means, you're willing to overlook your personal desires to save somebody. Right?
But why such?
"why are the Laws of Justice and the Government acting so slow in this kind of situation???"
ReplyDeletei know martial law is now working, but days before that, why dont they put Ampatuan in jail that it is very obvious, i mean 100% clear that he is the main suspect???WTF!!
i have to comment on this post. we have been discussing the Martial Law for days already in our Polsci 14 class. We are against it. Why? If this law will be pursued, there will be a big chance for PGMA to declare this in every part of the Philippines and this is a chance for her to extend her term as the president. and why would she declare martial law? it is stated in the Philippine constitution that the president is only allowed to declare martial law if there is rebellion and invasion that exist. but in the case of Magiundanao, there is none. People there were also saying that there was no rebellion that happened
Government did act on this issue but let's say, in a slow motion. (haha. i love the term). My classmate happened to be a resident in Maguindanao. according to her, during the last national elections, 100-0 votes, in favor of PGMA happened. Why can't the president sue the Ampatuan's? It is very obvious. They are allies of the president.
I think love means, you're willing to overlook your personal desires to save somebody. Right?
ReplyDeleteBut why such?
LOVE: An intense emotional attachment, as for a pet or treasured object.
stated in the dictionary. when we love, it doesn't mean, we just only love. there exist maybe something behind it. they are blinded with greed. Greed that killed people.
you can define love in many ways. there is love for greed, right? :D
ReplyDelete@ lizette:
ReplyDeleteMaybe SIMPLY because they were eaten by their own ambitions.
Nice Dhang. :)
ReplyDeleteBecause of their selfishness, many people died; even those innocent ones. I hope that they could be able to read this. This is for them to realize that beacause of their greediness of power, many people suffered.
We should care!
We must unite in seeking for justice!
@ jane:
ReplyDeleteyou're right jane. Let's just pray for the souls of the victims.
Hi Dannah!
ReplyDeleteI've just read your post and was overwhelmed by your views about the current situation in our country. It is appreciable for someone from young generation to picture the reality in our country.
Everyone knows how unbalanced our justice system is. Everyone sees all the big clues even if some hides all the roads to such clues. All these boil down to one of the our best custom in Philippine culture, the "utang na loob". Yes, this custom is now abused day after day leading public officials even the lawmakers to bend the law they have debated for years.
The country is getting worse every single day. Power and money left us all unguarded. But still, there is no way we should surrender. As long as there are "little heroes" fighting and even dying to tell the truth, democracy will reign.
Sooner, Philippines will be back in the arms of united Filipinos protecting the very essence of democracy - to fight for the right of each and every one.
Thank you for being a "little hero"!
I have to agree with you, Chai.
ReplyDeleteWhen you are too ambitious, that person tends to be greedy. :D
and now we know what greed can do.
@ Anonymous:
ReplyDeleteThank you for your appreciation :)
I have nothing to say! You're right.
Philippines is VERY SICK.
^__________^
it's not easy to kill powerless and clueless people who were masacred just because of political reasons. no mercy :( they're really greedy and selfish! what they've done is unjust and unforgiving. T_T
ReplyDeletethis should serve as an eye opener for all of us and for those who plan to join the election.
what's with our government system?
hahay.. members of the Ampatuan family escaped
and went abroad with plundered money from us. pa
let's pray and ask for justice.
very nice job dhang! keep it up!

@ lizette (again):
ReplyDelete"With Greediness Nothing is Impossible"
LOL!
@ ting2:
ReplyDeleteOUR GOVERNMENT SYSTEM IS IN SLOW MOTION.(according to lizette)hahahahha.
thank you ting! :DD
YES. and unfortunately, we live in a forsaken country and I'm gonna give my condolences to all of us.
ReplyDeleteThe article was good. It was really good. Nice job and keep it up.
@ lizette:
ReplyDeleteThank you so much te kaye! :)))
@lizette:
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Martial Law is not the solution to the problem. Logically speaking, there is no probable cause to declare ML in Maguindanao as such situation can never be classified as rebellion. However, I think, the author did not point out his support to the declaration. He just examined the situation chronologically. He's right that the government acted so slow before the ML was declared. Let us not, however, forget that ML prevented the culprits to use arms and escape from the vicinity. At least, at a point, it helped catch more evidences and prison suspects.
at any point, we should still respect justice system. the time we loss hope will be the time that justice is totally dissolved.
The thought was clear, creative and full of emotions. What i could say is that, try to be rational, because as i read your blog you out pour your emotions, which is good, because this is what blog is all about.Try to be non-partisan,i am not saying that what the politician did was right and just. But i guess when you see the brighter side of things you would actually see that it opened many doors. It Actually exposed the evil that man can do especially when he is already swallowed by his ambitions. have you seen the news? there was almost a thousand or more guns that has been repossessed by the government. so to sum up everything, openness is a great as well as a hard thing to consider. But i know you can do it. look into a different kind of perspective, try to see things in different angle, try to vision the greater picture and see that bad things has also paved the good ones.
ReplyDelete-Earl =)

@ EARL:
ReplyDeleteYes you were right there. I ADMIT. But maybe, u'r too broad! You cant blame me because i just felt pity for the family, for the children of the victims. That's what i am trying to state there. The scope of my blog is just until there. Maybe i'll try to create one and present that other perspective. :)))
thank you earl :DDD
Yeah! What a great epistaxis did happen to me as I read your blog and its comments. LOL
ReplyDeleteWell, here I start
Based on y own outlook on the massacre, the reason behind is all about POLITICAL DYNASTY. Political dynasties nowadays are rampant. We can’t blame the presence of political dynasty in some locality in the Philippines because even the major people or the toiling person of the Philippines specially the rulers of our country practices this pessimistic approach in conquering power. Many of the politicians in this day and age have colleagues in the field of politics and many of whom are their own relatives – as what we see in Ampatuans, and even member of their family.
Indeed, at present, we have a democratic form of government. A Government wherein the masses have the rights to elect their most admire candidate to their respective position. A government that contains a heart to its people, that cares for its people. But what the Ampatuans did just recently was an inhuman act that only satan can do! And for that reason they choose to be in HELL. HELL is a choice!
*nyc blog DANG! =)
@ Dane:
ReplyDeleteThank you dane! :)
Very rampant indeed.
Anyway, election is coming! we all have the right to select the perfect Leader. Oh no, not perfect really but someone with heart :)
Yeah! What a great epistaxis did happen to me as I read your blog and its comments. LOL

This blog should be read by each FILIPINO in the country to be concerned about the great suffering of our fellow brothers and sisters who were victims of a mass killing.
ReplyDeleteThe perpetrators of the crime must be punished with death penalty. The council must act violently because this is not a simple crime, but an unforgivable sin. 57 lives were taken by some private army ordered by the current Mayor of the said place. And the unthinkable part is the bodies were being buried in a barbaric manner. They should be disarmed by their weapons and restrain them with the power that they posses. I can’t imagine that a government official can do such act to maintain their POWER, GREED and PRIDE.
WE CARE...
@ harold:
ReplyDeleteHaaaarrrooooolllld! thank you! :))
The council must act violently because this is not a simple crime, but an unforgivable sin.
But we have the so called Law :)
As a coined phrase for others this case is a "work of the devil" and our government really need to act on this--a crime against humanity.
ReplyDeleteFor me the only thing we can do is unite in get rid of those who have committed abuse of authority and governance.
Jy
@ JY:
ReplyDeletethank you! ;)
Again, hear hear! :D
Hey people.
ReplyDeleteI just want to add,
NOT ALL OF THE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS are like that.
Good night and thank you for your SWEAT in visiting my blog. :)))
@dang: what will happen to our country??after we kill each member of the Ampatuan, and at the same time we will bury PGMA alive..i can call it peace...hahahahahahahaha...lol..
ReplyDelete@kuya shuy:
ReplyDeletewana be in hell too?
LOL
@dane: we cant blame political dynasties, dont generalize the idea about that..actually, there are lots of them that makes good impression to the community. Maybe, they only have the courage and money to rule the place, or even they were inspired by their ancestors as they take that place. being a democratic country is also the reason why political dynasty exist.(as if we dont know that only money runs in times of election)lol. And that kind of atittude must be changed, but if the ruler is good, why not take the money instead and vote for him..hahaha...lol
ReplyDeletethats just my comment, dont generalize...
@dane: it is better to kill a devil, than killed by a devil..
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, those heartless, nasty, spiteful bastards, the so-called Ampatuan dynasty, don’t deserve to be put in a stinky, old and highly-secured (which I honestly doubt) jail for a very long time. They really don’t deserve to be treated as what they are considered now. As a matter of fact, they are not worthy of that bitter attention they are getting from thousands to millions of concerned Filipinos out there. They deserve BETTER than that…….NOT! DUH! They should be EXECUTED as brutally as what they had done to 57 innocent civilians in Maguindano immediately, before the end of the year or better yet just before Christmas Eve. Since Christmas is fast approaching, why not offer their heads as a Christmas present, eh? I guess that would be favorably appreciated by most Filipinos.
ReplyDeleteAlright, I know it was stupid for me to say that, not the idea of them being slaughtered for I was dead serious about it, but the fact that I associated it with “Christmas” gift. It is just that, I really don’t understand the point of giving them greater chances of escaping and saving their rotten butts. Since the government itself has the power to approved an order saying that those moron, cruel-armed Filipinos, …wait, no scratch that – they are not even worthy to be named Filipinos at all, it should be moron, cruel-armed “them-who-must-not-live”, should be sentenced to death straightaway; they (ofiicials responsible for that) should have done something about it instead and not implement a more idiotic-replicated law of Marcos. For Pete's sake, some of us may have not thought about it but as far as my brilliant mind is concerned (just deal with it, this is my comment after all. :p), most of us know and are fully aware of the MAIN purpose of PGMA’s declaration of Martial Law in Maguindanao. We may, at times, be deaf but never blind, especially when it comes to the administration’s so-good-to-be-damn actions.
Yeah, we care. but we can't deny the idea that maybe, some where out there, there are still those who are wearing “i-don’t-care” or “i-couldn’t-care-less” shirts or whatever they are wearing; well then, go ahead and die with them… kidding! What I meant was, WAKE UP PEOPLE. If you call yourself a Filipino then WAKE UP, STAND UP and DO SOMETHING. I’m not saying though that it is NECESSARY for you to go to the streets and bring placards with you. What I am trying to say is that, we could do at least something more intellectual than that.
I hope I had made sense. :)
P.S. No lies, this blog is surely remarkable. :)
Starving pigs! and that's what I can describe to the uneducated and ruthless beings who committed such crime. shall i call them a rational being?! bloody hell!
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, we must always remember that reveange or killing will not make a change. As a humane individual, we must speak out of what is right and not by convincing others to pursue death penalty to the perpetrators. For those who opposed the declaration of Martial Law is ignoramus, it is for the sake of the operation. Avoid a judgmental mind. Having the declaration of Martial Law in Maguindanao doesn't mean that the President is overruling and attempting to exceed her power and presidential term. Just take the point that she is trying to help.
We must remember this inspiring quote:
"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"
- Neil Armstrong
A round of applause to the editor of this blog! you've done a great job. I hope that you can inspire other youths to make one.

* revenge rather.
ReplyDeleteThe reality bites.
ReplyDeleteTruth is...
There were more killed than those numbers that were posted and that was said to me by my uncle who is also a politician in ARMM. But it was just that the media who made it spread which caught the attention of the people. The killings were strictly politics. Even I if will go into one, I could have myself hire a Professional who can finish my closest rival. And what if it this was just a frame-up? So that the closest rival can easily take the position and gain popularity in an instant and the cost was the 57 lives slaughtered. This just shows that there are lots of important happenings on our island and truthfully writing. It's only a mere inch of what happens to Mindanao when the election comes. Maguindanao is the third poorest province in the Philippines and The Ampatuan's are one of the richest people in Mindanao. This just shows the reality of the politics here in Mindanao but not all. But it mostly happens in ARMM. And maybe its just a part of the most bloodiest election ever recorded in POLITICS.
GREAT WORK...
BUT NEEDS MORE RESEARCH BEHIND THE ROOT OF THE POLITICAL KILLINGS...
AND I THINK YOU NEED AN INSIDER SO THAT YOU WOULD PARTICULARLY KNOW WHO ARE THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO CAN DO WORST THAN THAT...
GOD BLESS...
those so-called bastards, Ampatuans, are been blinded by their GREED and PRIDE. they didn't appreciate what is the beauty of life or, just they don't care for it, as long they have the power to rule and to be served by these damn servants.
ReplyDeletekilling a number of people is just easy for them as if they only kill peast in farm. how this bastards do that?
i really felt sorry for the family of those victims.
i agree to you dang. its a manifestation of their selfishness and having with a demon-like heart. They are the leaders that should lead us to goodness and as model of a true Filipino. and not to be demons(thats what you called them... hehe).
i just hope dang that our justice here in Philippines may correct the wrong ones and give what ever punishment they deserved for what they have done.
condemn them! thats it. ayt?
ReplyDeleteboth parties are Muslims, but still they have the courage to do this beastful killing. they broke 57 delicate lives with ease.
condemn them. let them pay for what they have done.
may God, or their Allah gives justice to those whom been killed. and curse the sin that been comited by the sinner whom blinded by his POWER, SELFISHNESS and PRIDE.
all we can do is pray for them. thanks =)
PEOPLE!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thoughts with me. :))
All of us undeniably felt the same sentiments. And I am glad that we have one aspiration concerning the vicious crime and the families of the victims. It's just a manifestation that we can exchange blows against CRIME if we operate as one :)))

For me as a student of MSU... Affections and anger do exist in my heart because I have History 3 which teach the students how to bridge the gap and promote peace for Mindanao. i just want to say to all the filipinos that we don't really know who's the behind of this tragic incident... maybe it's a conspiracy... but please for those who can vote please vote wisely... with that we can help a little or bigger for the justice of this massacre... And we can do nothing but pray...
ReplyDeleteThis article is really amazing.... Thanks bhest and you did an outstanding article...!
please dont blame the muslims we really dont know whos behind this.... If you have only History 3.... i can say maybe the government..... but dont blame someone because if you just only knew that people can be blame too... how can you ask for justice if maybe the behind for all of this is a very powerful person...? we don't know the behind set for this... like I said maybe it's a conspiracy...
ReplyDeleteYeah. Not all. Don't generalize.
ReplyDeletethank you bhest! :)))
@kuya shuy
ReplyDeleteyes you’re right there is really nothing wrong about political dynasty... for it is our right to decide who has the greater strength of character that we will elect but then why vote those sons?daughters?relatives of those immoral ones…once is enough, twice is too much..
without a doubt, you’re obviously saying that we should not judge those political families since no one in this world is perfect….actually it really depends on that particular individuals disposition, and not because that he is from a political household…am I right kuya shuy?..
if and only if people are intellectually gifted in making decisions during elections and not to tolerate themselves in vote buying and pressures for sure we will able to lift our country up to goodness!..we should always be responsible enough….
*just follow HIS law and never make any offense..thats it!..nothing to fear of! =)
